Communicating Antarctic science
Through this interactive platform, we aim to deliver innovative content and spark curiosity.

About us
Antártica Sonora is an international science communication project that brought together professionals from various disciplines to create an interactive platform with innovative and accessible content for everyone.
Journalists, illustrators, audiovisual communicators, web developers, and marine acoustic researchers from Chile and Germany worked together to contribute to the understanding of polar ecosystems and bring a piece of Antarctic science to audiences around the world.
International cooperation between Chile and Germany
Polar research often requires collaboration between countries, and science communication about the white continent is no exception.
Antártica Sonora is a project made possible thanks to funding from the CoastCarb program of the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) and the Center for the Study of High Latitude Marine Ecosystem Dynamics (IDEAL) at the Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh).
